This is maddening to me. J Crew Factory is selling this rather cute, practical wedge for $98. At first glance, it’s a great deal: versatile color, sensible heel height and easily moves from work wear to weekend. I should be sold.
But take a closer look: Polyurethane upper and lining. They want nearly $100 for fake leather. Polyurethane won’t stretch, it will crack and show wear more quickly, and it will make your feet uncomfortable sticky and hot. This is nonsense. I’m disappointed that J. Crew is trying to cash in on their extreme popularity to sell an overpriced inferior product. I hope this “deal” comes with bandaids for your blisters.
